New Year's Resolution

Okay, so I have been a horrible blogger. But, alas! One of my New Year's resolutions is to blog daily--yeah! Even if it is just a picture of Max, the plan is to update the blog daily. And, I welcome all aspects of accountability! Ha!

Max is my MOST favorite subject at the moment, so I am not sure why it has been well over two months since my last post. But, I have been enjoying this little baby like nobody's business! He is most definitely the best thing since sliced bread!!! So, get ready to hear (read) all about what Max has been up to for the past couple of months. I will try to play catch-up quickly so that I can get to blogging about his current/daily cuteness.

I hope everyone is ready for a fabulous 2010!

Max Turned 2 Months!

Our big guy is a whole two months old as of October 27th! He has developed quite the personality. Here are a few of the things Max has been up to:
  • You started smiling at us around week 6 (October 8th) and have not stopped since. You melt our hearts!
  • You LOVE your green bouncy seat with the frog that sings. You just kick and move your arms and legs to try and make all the toys move. You even grasped the frog and made it sing on your own!
  • You rolled over from your tummy to your back! Yay! Go Max! You stared this around week 7 (October 15th). You are so strong and determined to do what you set your mind to. We can just see it in your eyes!
  • At around week 6 you REALLY started fighting your sleep. You will just scream if we don't catch your sleepy signals in time to get you swaddled and put to sleep. We are figuring you out though :)
  • You are grown out of your NB clothes, but some 3M sizes are still too long. You are really filling out!
  • You still nurse every 2-3 hours and most nights you sleep between 8-10 hours, waking to nurse every 3 or so hours.
  • You are our Sunshine!!!

Say What?

Am I really two months old today?! These past two months have gone by so fast. I mean, I have just been so busy. I have been eating and sleeping quite a bit, but I have been doing other new things also. My Mommy & Daddy say that I am the most handsome and perfect little man that they have ever seen. What do you think?

Max Turned 1 Month!

Max turned one month old on September 27th! His first month has been such a joy. Getting to know our sweet baby boy has been such a blessing. Daniel and I LOVE being his Mommy & Daddy. The above pictures were all taken during his first month of life. These will be a series of "Watch Me Grow" pictures that I will take at least once a month for Max's first year. The idea is to see how much he has grown during his first year by comparing the pictures. They will all be in the same fashion--on the same blanket and with the same adorable monkey. (I have to give credit to my friend Jill for this. I took the idea from her. She has a sidebar on her blog of her sweet baby boy Noah who has already completed his whole first year of the Watch Me Grow.)

Below is a list of all things Max during his first month of life. (I am writing to Max because I want this blog to be a place where he will be able to look back and see what he was up to at any point in his life.)

  • You sleep 16-20 hours a day.
  • After your first week, you started sleeping in your crib. Ususally 2-5 hour intervals at night and 30 minute-2hours during the day.
  • You wear Newborn clothes, including sleepers. However, even some of the NB pants are too long!
  • You gained 1/2 lb. at your 1-week Dr.'s appointment. (You don't go back to the Dr. until you are 8 weeks.)
  • You are such a good eater! You nurse every 2-3 hours. Sometimes longer at night.
  • You make great eye contact and have such great control of your head.
  • You do NOT like the swing just yet, but you love your bouncy seat.
  • You like to be swaddled to go to sleep.
  • You love listening to your Praise Baby CD.
  • You love your room very much! Whenever we return to it, you become very calm and relaxed. And for some reason, you love your changing table!
  • You like to be swaddled and rocked before you are put to sleep. You are very animated when you are trying to fall asleep--you go through a series of facial expressions, including similing, chuckling, and sometimes wincing. (It is quite comical for Daddy & me to watch!)

September 27th was a VERY special day. Not only did Max turn 1 month old, but his sweet Cousin Eliza turned 4! Max made his first trip to Searcy to celebrate. We went to Eliza's soccer game (the cutest thing ever!) and then had a Birthday celebration at Mamaw's. It was fun festivities and Max was worn out when we returned home that evening. (I can't figure out how to post pictures after the writing, but I will put them in another post.)

Happy Birthday Max & Eliza!

6-Week Hiatus

I figured I would begin this long overdue post with a sweet smile being that it has been a while since my last post. Our little Max has changed so much over the last six weeks. He amazes me each and every day! He is so full of life and such an inspiration. I am so thankful to be his Mommy!

I am going to play catch-up with the blog so that everyone can see what Max has been up to these last few weeks. So, check back often over the next couple of days. Max will be 2 months old on the 27th (I know, can you believe it!), so I am going to try to complete the posts up until then.
